Kyle and Samantha Engaged!

With all the baby bump news in the air, how about throwing some good engagement news in the mix! Via twitter, we learned this week that Kyle Busch and Samantha Sarcinella are engaged to be married. I am liking that Kyle and Samantha are both are on Twitter, along with a rash of drivers this week getting on the Twitter bandwagon like Jamie McMurray and Travis Kvapil.

Congrats to Kyle and Samantha! GREAT job on the ring, Kyle! I am now going to show my boyfriend this awesome new article I just wrote...hint, hint......

Swoon!!! Harry Connick Jr will sing at the 500!!

Megan is excited about Tim McGraw but this press release made my day! I love Harry Connick Jr. even tho one time I saw him in concert and he had more makeup on than I have ever seen...hope he fired that girl :). Race Day stalk mode just got a little more interesting!

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Columbia Recording artist, singer and pianist Harry Connick Jr. will sing the National Anthem for the 52^nd running of the Daytona 500 on Sunday, February 14, NASCAR biggest and most prestigious race of the season.

Three-time Grammy Award winner Connick recently released his 24^th album titled ‘YOUR SONGS,’ which consists of Connick singing classic songs with a full orchestra, and, as with nearly all of Connick’s previous albums, he arranged and orchestrated all of the songs himself.

“We’re delighted to welcome Harry Connick Jr. to NASCAR’s most storied track – Daytona International Speedway,” Track President Robin Braig said. “Known world wide for his talented voice, we can’t wait to hear Harry Connick’s rendition of the National Anthem as he helps kick off NASCAR’s greatest spectacle – the Daytona 500.”

Since the release of his debut album in 1987, Connick has sold more than 25 million albums as well as maintained a successful acting career appearing in movies such as “Hope Floats,” “Memphis Belle,” “P.S. I Love You” and most recently “New In Town” with Renee Zellweger.

Connick has performed in front of the NASCAR family before singing at the season-ending awards ceremony back in 2003.

NASCAR Baby Boom 2010

Jeff Gordon and wife Ingrid Vandebosch are expecting their second child sometime in August.

I am starting to loose track of all the NASCAR pregnancy's out there. Jeff's good friend and teammate Jimmie Johnson & wife Chandra will have their first child in July. Carl Edwards and wife Kate are having a baby girl sometime this month and Elliot & Amanda Sadler are having a baby boy in April. That's going to be one busy playground in the Driver Owner lot!!

Whose next?? I for one am staying away from the Kool-Aid on pit road.

Keeping up with the Kardashians NASCAR style

At first we thought we were being punked when we received this press release and not by Ashton Kutcher, but by Tommy Baldwin. We do love celebrity NASCAR partnerships and pink cars, especially when said car has our favorite word Sephora on the hood. We just weren't expecting this one. Too bad this isn't happening in Daytona, for we would surely love to see it with our very own eyes. Or maybe a trip to Vegas is in our future? And PS, major kuddos to Tommy Baldwin Racing, who has secured two celebrity sponsorships over the past season. Last year with a multi race deal w/ one of our favorite Food Network stars, Guy Feirri and now with.......Drum roll please....

TOMMY BALDWIN ADDS KIM KARDASHIAN TO RACING TEAM. The No. 36 Chevrolet will feature the Kim Kardashian fragrance, "Kardashian" pink paint scheme for Shelby American NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race in Las Vegas on Feb. 28. This may be the most unique sponsor partnerships in NASCAR history.

Kim will star as the Grand Marshall for the Shelby American. I wonder if her man Reggie Bush will be there sporting a Super Bowl ring (here's to hoping!). If your headed out to my favorite race of the season, make sure you stop by and say hey to Kim. She will make a personal appearance in Las Vegas on Saturday, Feb. 27, at Sephora in The Venetian’s Grand Canal Shoppes from 7 to 9 p.m. (PT). Jennifer Jo Cobb will make debut in Daytona

Just another reminder that Danica Patrick wont be the only female to focus on in Daytona. If you remember, (we hope you do) we interviewed Jennifer in our Fast Lap feature last year.

Jennifer Jo Cobb Racing will debut the No. 10 Ford F-150 in the NextEra Energy Resources 250 at the Daytona International Speedway on February 12. Cobb will attempt a full schedule with the goal of winning the Raybestos Rookie-of-the-Year title.

Cobb has over 18 years of racing experience, rising up the ranks in the NASCAR grassroots levels. The Kansas City, Kan., native has four previous starts in the Camping World Truck Series, but is now ready to compete with the best drivers and teams in the series.

Cobb, also a motivational speaker, will draw attention to her fashion line, Driver Boutique and Driven for Men on her truck, but the team continues to look for additional partners for the season.
